Agent Guide

Running your Dropzon agent location - from setup to daily operations.

How to become a Dropzon Agent

Dropzon agents are local businesses that serve as pickup/drop-off points. Any public-facing business can become an agent - Mpesa shops, gas stations, mini shops, pharmacies, and more.

1

Apply online

Visit the Become a Dropzon page and fill out the application form with your business details and location.

2

Verification

Our team reviews your application and may visit your location to verify it meets requirements - accessible, secure, and during reasonable business hours.

3

Get approved and set up

Once approved, you get access to ZonHub (the operator portal) and your Dropzon location is registered in the system with a unique Dropzon code.

4

Start serving customers

People in your area can now select your location as their Dropzon. You start receiving packages and earning per package handled.

Receiving packages at your location

1

Courier arrives with a package

A courier or delivery person brings a package addressed to a DZ# code at your location.

2

Log the package in ZonHub

Open ZonHub, go to Receive, and scan or enter the package details. The system matches it to the correct customer automatically via the DZ# code.

3

Store the package safely

Keep the package in a secure area until the customer comes to collect it.

4

Customer gets notified

The customer receives an automatic notification that their package is ready for pickup.

Handing over packages to customers

When a customer comes to pick up their package, you must verify their identity:

1

Customer provides verification

They show their DZ# code, scan their QR code from the app, or provide an OTP.

2

Verify in ZonHub

Enter the code in ZonHub to confirm the customer's identity and see their pending packages.

3

Hand over and confirm

Give the package to the customer and mark it as handed over in ZonHub. The system records the transaction and credits your earnings.

Neverhand over a package without verifying the customer's identity. This protects both you and the customer.

Your earnings dashboard

You earn for every package you handle. Track your earnings in ZonHub:

  • Per-package earnings - You earn a fee for each package received and handed over
  • Daily summary - See how many packages you handled today
  • Monthly breakdown - View your earnings history and trends
  • Payouts - Earnings are paid out to your registered payment method

Features available to agents

As an agent, your features are managed by the Dropzon admin. By default, agents start with basic receive-and-handover capability. The admin can enable additional features for your location:

Posting

Accept packages for sending (requires admin approval)

Queue Management

Manage walk-in customers with a queue system

Packaging

Offer packaging services for items

Insurance

Process insurance for shipments

International

Handle international shipments

Shipments

Create and manage shipments

If you see "Feature not available" in ZonHub, it means the admin has not enabled that feature for your location yet. Contact support to request feature activation.
