Getting Started with Dropzon

Everything you need to know to start using Dropzon.

What is Dropzon?

Dropzon is a modern address and package pickup system built for countries that do not have reliable address systems. Many places across Africa and beyond have no street numbers, no ZIP codes, and no standardized address formats that work on international forms.

Dropzon fixes this by giving you a permanent DZ Address with a unique DZ# code(like DZ#1000-03) that works on any form, any platform, anywhere in the world. Your DZ Address is linked to a physical Dropzon location near you - a local shop, kiosk, or branch office - where your packages are delivered and held for you to pick up.

Think of it like Mpesa for addresses. Mpesa put financial services into every neighborhood kiosk. Dropzon puts a reliable delivery address into every neighborhood.

How to create an account

Go to dropzon.app

Open dropzon.app in your browser or download the Dropzon app from the App Store or Google Play.

Enter your phone number

Tap "Get Started" and enter your phone number with country code (e.g. +255 for Tanzania).

Verify with OTP

You will receive a one-time password (OTP) via SMS. Enter it to verify your number.

Set your name and password

Enter your full name and choose a secure password. Your account is now ready.

How to get your DZ Address

Important: You do not create an address from scratch. You pick an existing Dropzon location near you and subscribe to get an address slot there.

Pick a nearby Dropzon

After logging in, go to "Get Address" and browse nearby Dropzon locations on the map. You can pick any agent location or branch office near your home, work, or wherever is convenient.

Choose a plan

Each location shows available pricing plans. Plans vary by billing cycle - monthly, quarterly, or yearly. Pick the one that works for you.

Subscribe and get your DZ#

Confirm your subscription, make the payment, and you will instantly receive your DZ Address with a unique DZ# code. For example: DZ#1000-03 means you are spot 3 at Dropzon 1000.

Start using your address

Your DZ Address is now active. Use it on Amazon, bank forms, government documents, or anywhere that asks for a delivery address. All packages sent to your DZ# will arrive at your Dropzon.

Understanding your DZ# code

Every DZ Address comes with a unique DZ# code. Here is how to read it:

DZ#1000-03

  • DZ# - The universal prefix. Every Dropzon code starts with this.
  • 1000 - The Dropzon location number. This identifies which physical Dropzon your packages go to.
  • 03 - Your spot number at that Dropzon. This is your personal slot.

Your full DZ Address also includes a street address, city, and country - formatted to work on any international form. But the DZ# code alone is enough for any package to reach you.

Frequently asked questions

Is Dropzon free?
Creating an account is free. To get a DZ Address, you need to subscribe to a plan at your chosen Dropzon location. Plans start from as low as 2,000 TZS per month depending on your location.
Can I have more than one DZ Address?
Yes. You can subscribe to multiple Dropzon locations - for example, one near your home and one near your office.
What countries is Dropzon available in?
Dropzon is currently launching in Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda. The system is designed to work in any country and we are expanding rapidly.
Do I need an internet connection to pick up packages?
You need a phone to verify your identity at the Dropzon (via DZ# code, QR code, or OTP), but the Dropzon operator handles the rest.
What happens if I do not renew my subscription?
Your address enters a 14-day grace period. If you do not renew within those 14 days, your spot becomes vacant and can be assigned to someone else. See the grace period guide.
